JUST FITTED 550CC INJECTORS AND A AF TDO5 20G TURBO ANY CARS NOT RUNNING CORRECT
I HAVE JUST FITTED 550CC INJECTORS AND A AF TD05 20G TURBO TO MY 1997 WRX STI TYPE R THE CAR IS NOT BOOSTING AND THERE IS BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. I FITTED THEM AS I AM ABOUT TO HAVE A APEXI POWER FC FITTED AND THOUGHT I BETTER FIT THESE FIRST BEFORE I GET THE CAR SET UP. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? IS THE CAR OVER FUELING?

Paul @ Zen put 440c's in my old scooby and yes the car was smoking like a b1tch.....then he did his magicd with the mapping and it was all sorted...
Yes it is due to the fuel...i was told not to change the injectors and drive up to him....and it should be done at the same time when the map is changed...
You should have left it till the powerfc is fitted....

You need to get it mapped. Currently the car has larger injectors but the ECU is opening them for just as long, so massive overfuelling will be the result.

Do you get overfuelling even if you keep it off boost..?
Only asking as a lot of people have new turbo's/inj/pumps fitted before getting them remapped.
I'm hoping to do this soon, having the bits fitted the day before mapping, should do no more than 100 miles off boost. Is this likely to cause potential damage, ie bore wash..?
Mapped newage TD04/WRX.
