Default Could This Be A Diff Problem??? I KNOW NOW.....

After a bit of a run (When everything is warm) on full lock it seems like there is a jumping motion, only happens when things are warm.

The other week i had a 4 wheel alignment done and the bloke who took it into the garage said that it was a diff problem, and its common on these ("99" classic) weird i though as i had never seen or heard of this ever!!

Any help would be great!

Many thanks
Adz

Hows your tyre wear?

Do all the tyres have the same amount of tread left and are the same brand?

-worth triying a swap front to rear to see if makes a difference.

Is there a clunking noise as well? When my front diff went the car used to clonk and jump on full lock... Didnt sound healthy.

Well I had a new gearbox/clutch done at the same time so wouldnt know but it is definately a gearbox out/strip job from my experience... (£800+)

Can recomend XS in Essex for work to be carried out on. Get it looked at ASAP otherwise if that diff goes completely it will really damage the gearbox/connecting diffs!!

Clonking could be CV joints, easy enough for a garage to diagnose and rule out.

I had a the same problem on my 02 STI. Problem was finally diagnosed as the diff... after they had told me they couldn't hear any knocking, then to change my tyres.....
