Subaru Initials????
Does anyone know what all the different letters after each model stand for?
e.g WRX, TYPE R, TYPE RA etc. If the D in spec D stands for Discreet what does the C in spec C stand for? I`m confused or maybe stupid. Can anyone help?

Some people contacted Subaru and they said....
WRX doesn't stand for anything BUT the genral consensus is that it actually stands for WORLD RALLY EXPERIMENTAL.
WRC = World Rally Cross though so maybe WRX = World rally Cross "X" too!?

Suspect the designers were playing Scrabble over lunch, and decided to use the letters they had left over at the end of the game.

I,m sure the r in Type r stands for Retina=which denotes the 2/3 door coupe shell.

Retna is the name given to the 2 door bodyshell
