Default Weaving under heavy breaking

Hi,
I have just picked up a 03 WRX PPP and all is well except under very heavy braking when the car becomes very skittish and weaves slightly. The Tyre pressures are correct (as per the figures inside the door pillar), and the disks/pads are fine. There is no juddering of other symptoms. Could this be a tracking issue? or it it more likely to be a brake balance problem?

(EDIT: Tyres are new Goodyear Eagle F1's)

Cheers for any input
Tom

Don't quote me on this, but i am pretty sure that the SUBARU WRX comes with EBD . . . If you are reffering to heavy braking, as in VERY heavy breaking to the point where the ABS starts kicking, then I think you should expect some minor instability, especially if you are cornering . . .

However, my advice is - if it is an 03 WRX . . .YOu simply don't know where and how the previous owner has been hammering/flying over the speed humps . .What I would do is check the cars GEOMETRY (camber/castor/toe) just to be on the safe side . . .

Hope this helps!

p.s . . Hello and welcome!

Either

1) Your tracking is out.
2) Your tyres are worn bady
3) Your track rods are worn.

Yes to all the above but remember that if coming from something a little less powerful you'll have been traveling the same roads at lower speeds, at higher speeds any camber or undulation in the road is a lot more pronounced.

Agreed mate, car has only done this once but it was me that was at fault driving at an inappropriate speed for the corner. Goodyear Eagle F1's are also a bit squidgy ?

You're not too far from www.powerstation.org who are the Daddies when it comes to Scooby suspension. Whilst you're getting it checked, ask them to pop on a Whiteline 22mm rear adjustable ARB (set to the stiffest setting) with solid links, and do a full fast road set-up. You won't regret it

Had this with Prodrive brakes on my wagon.
I cured it with some uprated rear pads from Alyn.
