Exclamation Shipping to Hong Kong!!! Help... s0dding ebay...

lol. Well that teaches me not to offer to sell globally... ok so I need to send a gearbox to Hong Kong... dont ask...
Within the Uk I would probably opt for a palet courier firm at around £60ish.

What are my options for shipping to Hong Kong... any idea of prices???

You wont get that Air freight, well not for any kind of sensible money..

Best to get a price on shipping (as in boats ).. Problem is it will take bloody weeks!

When I ordered my FMIC which came from HongKong it was sent via DHL as air freight. As regular business users it cost them around £25 which is unbelievably cheap..!!

I'm thinking the gearbox is going to be around 30 kg and yes have to agree I don't think its going to be possible to ship it out at a reasonable rate...

Make an excuse ...regrettable but unless you can find an alternative have to agree with Ray_li it may not be affordable or viable

Book a holiday to Hong Kong, take it in your suitcase (30kg allowance), stock up on cheap Scoob goodies for yourself filling the case , fly back, job done

Or if that is not the sensible option do you know anyone in business who has an account with a courier firm, who you could sort out if they get you the cheaper corporate rates?

Would have thought surface mail is the only option, which would take up to a couple of months to get there, and the cost is probably going to be horrendous.

I would apologise to the buyer and say you made a mistake in listing it globally - take negative feedback if he gives it, and relist it as UK only.

Ive been selling footy shirts on ebay for 6 years, I would recommend you politely say its not cost effective to send to HK, if he gets arsey about it just start the non-paying bidder process, say he did'nt pay, once thats completed he will lose his right to leave negative feedback.

Hi SCOOBYDOO, snap!, just has the same thing this morning, but for an item weighing about 2.5kg and going to Japan, I quoted it up using Parcel Force International Scheduled. Needless to say the postage is more that the item.. I have sent an invoice with the quoted P&P, and have asked the guy to let me know either way.

FYI.. Gearbox estimates, I put in 30kg - 45cmx45cmx75cm approx... and the quoted prices are below;

Int Datapost (3 Days) - £253.30
Int Standard (5-8 Days) - £195.40
Int Economy (42-44 Days) - £166.05

I won't be listing Worldwide again... Good Luck.

A shipping agent would cost a lot less. Ive sent a CHEP (sorry CHEP ) pallet with 1.5 cubic metres (inc the pallet) to Australia for not a deal over £100... If youre in or close to Sheffield then I can recommend someone who's extremely reasonable.

Not true at all - as long as he responds at least once to the unpaid item report, then he can leave any feedback he wants ( he can just respond with a full stop or something, doesnt have to make any sense ).

If he doesnt respond at all, he can still leave a feedback comment, but the rating wont show, and it will have a note next to it saying 'buyer didnt respond to unpaid item dispute'
