This so-called government is to change the laws on company car taxation. The main gist of it is they are going to tax cars according to polution levels. Far enough, but they aren't going to give reductions for those who do high mileages. Admittedly they will cause a (tiny) fraction more polution, but they are hardly using the car as a perk. I don't even have a company car and it annoyed me to hear about this. Another increase in taxation for the motorist, what a surprise!

Question

where have you been? whilst I don't condone the current car tax structure, these changes were announced ages ago and are only just coming into affect. this is not the governement 'changing' the tax, merely implementing announcements from over a year ago.

I must of missed this announcement. If it was about a year ago, I was probably more concerned with IR35 than company car tax. I'm unlikely to ever have a company car, so don't really concern myself with the rules. However, Capital radio made the announcement this morning and didn't make it clear that it had already been announced and was simply coming into place.
