Shouldn't have to look at anything in particular, just make sure all the docs tie up and the bodywork is straight. Everything else should be fine at that age and mileage

Dead easy way to test the clutch, With the sales rep in the passenger seat pull up at the the lights dial in about 4500 RPM and just step off the clutch in first as the lights go green ! You will know if there's a prob !

JOKING ! The clutch should be fine in a car that age.
But the REP might not be

Only probs on my MY03 has been battery! Should be fine, dents like a thing that dents easily but dealer should be able to sort before pick-up. Make sure its got a PPP cert for that car. Try and get as many cheap/free upgrades as you can!!! You will pay top wack after you bought it and its easier to discount on the paper work before the car is sold to you. If you want PD springs tell them you are interested if you can do free or discounted a, b, c, etc. I would push for this on any new Imp I bought as I thought standard springs were rubbish.

Push hard local dealers here have had some Imps on their lots for 12 months. I bought July last year and there is an 05 imp I looked at still for sale. Its really good but too much money without extra upgrades. They give supergard and posh mats pretty easily too. Go for it.

Happy shopping.

why is everyone assuming this is from a dealer

anyway ensure you do a hpi check. clutch will be fairly evident when accelerating hard up a slight incline. it may still have warranty, if not be cheeky, ring the servicing dealer and ask what work they have done on it.
