had my car for nearly 8 months now just done over 8000 miles and had a tapping noise - sounded like tappets around a month ago at 7000 miles so checked the oil and it was low so topped it up - problem gone

now at 8000 miles the tapping is back and oil is fine, just below the full mark,

anyone had this or could give me any clues, can be wasting my time with dealers who just want you to p**s off and put up with it, only want to do that as a last resort!

Did you have your 1,000 mile service done?
Have you topped up your oil regularly, not just the once?

yeah had the service done but yeah only topped up the oil when low that once and its fine at the mo
