Hi all, great forum with lots of advice. I have been searching on here for advise and info on buying a used scooby.

I have found a few which I like the look of. The one I would like to ask your advise on is as follows. This is owned by a friend of a friend who happens to have more money than sense and wants rid of the car.

Its a MY03 STI impreza with PPP. Its done less than 10000 miles but as yet has no service history what so ever. The guy who is selling it is a director of the business. All I know is the car a minter apart from a few surface touch ups and a front wing knock which i will get hpi'd to make sure its all clear. Its never had any interest from the police and is cat c clear.

I am interested in the car but without service history and therefore no warranty how much do you think the car is worth and for £13000 would you consider it if u were in my position. If not, what would you think is a fair price for it?

Your help is greatly appreciated. I look forward to joining the club.

That does seem a good price mate - might cost a few hundred to get teh paintwork up to scratch but go for it.


with PPP as well - sounds a bargain.

That's a lot for a car with no warranty, plus it could have done 110,000 miles.

Its a STI8. No way its done anything over 8000 miles.

The interior is literally in mint condition, the bodywork aside from knocks is perfect ie no stone chips what so ever. The tyres from new still have a load of tread left.

The reason for low mileage is the guy was caught for drink driving. The last recorded mileage by Subaru dealer was in 2005 when they recorded it with 3900 miles. I have no doubt the mileage is legit.

Its just the service aspect. Keep your input coming guys....useful comments so far.

Anything apart from the obvious u guys would check.
