You did check out the Insurance BEFORE you bought ....... didn't you??

It's one of the many reasons that Imports should be left well alone .........

Like Pete say's though they are harder to insure, especially if you are under 25 and lacking NCB

Only problem I had when looking what to buy was that insurance on an import would cost me over £3300, and a UK car was £1200.

Depending on your age / location / ncb etc... you may find that you cant get a reasonable quote on an import from anyone.

If you are a reasonable risk then a good broker wont charge a deal more..... Shop around.

put a tracker on the car it might help to bring the premium a bit lower.

Im 30 full ncb live in cumbria, and got quoted around the £500 mark for a 95 RA

I've not had any problems getting insured on my Forester import. Tesco did a good deal.

But why spend £500 for a tracker which will only save him a few £££ per year?

No problems insuring my RA Import.
I would have my import over any UK Impreza (well almost any)

Give Keith Michaels a call, they saved me over £100

Mods are like for like in a claim as well

Had one hell of a job convincing my insurers that the wife's 05 WRX was not an SL. 'It must be because the computer said So !' Thinking of putting a claim in because someone's nicked the leather seats and the sunroof. Donkeys
