sourcing an apexi pfc from japan....... problems?
in need of an apexi power fc for my my00 wrx, just missed out on one that was offered for sale on here last week ( always the way) and am searching for the best option for me...... seen some advertised on ebay, and the best price ive seen is here

anyone purchased from japan and found it to be worthwhile to do? any problems encountered along the way,and was import duty imposed upon its delivery?
There are other units based in the uk at a bit more and not sure whether not to bother with all the possible hasle i might get from purchasing from so far away (delay, poss damage in transit etc)

Have a look here http://www.nengun.com/ takes about a week to clear payment to clear and then a few days for shipping.

I've bought a few things from the US and Asia with no problems, but for £40 i think i'd get the one from the UK, postage costs will be less, delivery will be quicker and you don't have to worry about possible import duty.

Well i mailed the uk seller to ask a couple of questions......... and it seems they do not hold a stock of them, but would have to source them from their warehouse in japan..... approx 10 day wait for delivery, which is not too bad i guess, all in all there is only a £26 difference between the two with the uk dealer being the slightly more expensive, but that does not take into account any vat that might be added to the other sellers item....... think ill go the uk ( ish) route.

Rigga,
You may recall me telling you that I had one arriving any day..... well it arrived.
It was from JPS as advertised on ebay.
The total cost was £399 + £29 delivery
Then when it arrived there was an additional charge of £65.14 for duty and VAT
Total cost £493.14
Please note that the duty paid was based on a valuation of $400 not £400
Hope this helps
Martin
p.s. Bike is class
