Hod to minimise Turbo Lag?
#2
Starting at the cheap end, a Dawes manual boost controller (about £30) fitted between the turbo and wastegate will speed spool-up. Then you get into more expensive stuff like new downpipe, ECU remap etc etc.
The other way to do it is to try and adapt your throttle foot. Turbos only get spinning properly when the throttle is pretty wide open. So if you're in the lag zone, and need to get going quickly, either change down a gear, or give it more throttle than you think it needs. This will get it spinning quicker.
New Saabs have drive by wire throttles which do this for you to reduce lag: when you press the throttle, the ECU moves the throttle butterfly further than your foot is telling it to, then backs it off after half a second or so ... clever stuff!

ZJS,
I seem to be following you around, the downpipe is the best place to fight lag, it sounds crazy, but it really does make the world of difference, I fitted a scoobsport one.
