Default Need some technical help please

Hi all,

I have been driving my Scoob for a few months now with no worries. I drove to work this morning and all was fine. When I started the car up before the trip home the check engine light didnt go off. I had to get the car home so I drove it anyway, when accelerating within the boost range the car kind of stuttered. When driving without pushing the turbo though it seemed pretty normal. I wont beable to get the car to a garage until next week, anybody have any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Cheers

AK

1999, Uk Turbo, has a few mods (unichip, magnex, Induction Kit, Front mounted intercooler etc).

I just started the car to see if it had gone away. The idle keep changing between say 750 and 1100.

All together now!

"MAF sensor!!"

p.s. Induction kits knacker the MAF sensor on MY99 and MY00 cars.

No, not certain... I'm not a mechanic.

The lumpy idle, CEL and flat spot in the rev range are classic signs and the MAF in these two model years are notoriously fragile. The part's about £80 and really simple to do (they tell me). Only buy the sensor, not the whole housing.

Thanks, Is the car still drivable or not? I really need to use it, but I will put off what I need to be doing if I need to.
