Fuji Heavy forecasts op profit drop, names new CEO
"We've had a weakness of not being able to translate well-engineered cars into strong sales," Takenaka told a news conference:

I have the feeling that this is a problem that Subaru not only faces in Japan.
What are they doing wrong? Is it their public relations or just a image problem?
Or is the common carowner not interested in well-engineered cars and buys just anything?
Greetings,
SRX!

They try to sell the cars "cheap" then the owners get spanked on Insurance, Maintenance and Parts as everyone else wants a piece of the action..
Obviously you cant get around the insurance as any "hot hatch" type car comes at a premium.. But the prices for Maintenance and Parts are seriously out of order, they are in exotic & prestige car territory when they are not exotic or prestige! infact they are pretty low budget cars in the grand scheme of things.
