Hello all,
I'm new to the US i-club and group (and not quite spot-on in membership as I own a Forester). I'm an American traveling to London November 7-15 on vacation and was curious if Prodrive is open to visitors. I'd really like to see the WRC facility (not a spy for any competitors). In addition, I'd like to visit Scoobysport (one of the best known scooby tuners in the UK far as I can tell) and would like to know their hours of operation.
Have you all any other suggestions for prime scooby viewing or hands-on? Seems to me that folks in the UK have a greater appreciation for the marque than we do in the US - maybe because we get all the tamest models (would love to test drive a Forester S Turbo).
Thanks in advance.

Lark6,
Can't help with your questions, I'm sure someone will jump in with them.
However, if you are over here then, you might like to come to Donington Park race circuit on the 12th (Sunday) as a track day is being run and there will be quite a few Scooby Turbos on track.
I'm sure you will be more than welcome.
Cheers
Ian

I believe that there are no more visits to Prodrive, this year.. I think someone posted that a couple of months back..
As too Scoobysport, I'm sure they'd be only to happy to welcome another potential customer

Get yourself along to Donnington and don't be shy If you've got a helmet its worth bringing it , but if not it shouldn't be too hard to borrow one. Just ask people for passenger laps and they will generaly be only too keen. Have fun. If you want to test drive a Scooby Turbo or similar, its best to call a dealer befoe hand and just tell them you are a banker or something over for a year or two and need a company car, and book a testdrive, the odds of being abl to just turn up and go are slim as they get plagued with muppets wanting test drives who have no intention of buying a car.

Lark,
There will be a guy called Stef there at Donington with a green turbo. I would suggest you see if you can "book" a ride with him (by contacting him on this BBS, s he usually gets quite booked up). This will give you an idea of how a nice sedate drive round a circuit should be like.... (PS. Bring a change of underwear to the circuit with you.... )

Stef
PS I'm always more than happy to take mad peo...passengers out with me!

Thanks for the offer, Stef. I'll see what I can do and if the missus can let me out of her sight for a day.
Thank you all for the info. Sorry I won't get to visit Prodrive. As for Scoobysport I'll give it a go but I don't know how much stuff is US-legal and, if so, whether I'll want to lug it all back or ship it.

Firefox,
Engine is fixed and was mapped on the dyno on Tuesday. Only problem was, they only got up to 24.5psi and it broke the dyno ! Ahmed is coming back on Monday to finish it off (needs to be mapped up to 33psi). It will then be installed in the car by the end of the week (takes so long, as it needs two fuel pumps installed and wired in etc. for the eight injectors).
Best regards
