Just a couple of quick questions

Standard pads fitted to 54 STI

Can you purchase them anywhere apart from a dealer?

Do they have a make/model so that I know I am purchasing the correct part?

Thanks for your help

I had the same problem a few weeks ago mate. The Brembo pads were very expensive at the dealers. In the end approached Alyn (Stockcar on this forum) for his prices and he suggested a few alternative pads. In the end he did a similar Brembo set up which cames boxed as Brembo IIRC for 155.00 delivered and that included BOTH front and rears.

If I'm honest I think they are slightly better than the oem pad as well. Happy days!

That’s sounds ok considering I have been quoted £170 + vat just for the front pads then £35 + vat for fitting which I am happy to do myself.
I have been reading many of the threads about pads and the Ferodo DS2000 have had some positive comments. Has any one had any experiences with every day road use with these?
Don’t get me wrong I am happy to pay good money for the pads as they are an important part not to be messed about with, but at the same time begrudge giving the dealers that sort of money when you know you are just being ripped off.

I emailed proven products .co.uk and this was the reply I received

Wouldn’t use the DS2000 myself, don’t like them & don’t like the high metallic dust!
I would fit EBC redstuff latest compound £81.00 set including vat

Just wondering your thoughts on these?

From the threads I have looked at they seem to get a bit of a slating because they don’t last very long
