Question Advice on Making My Scooby a bit quicker

Evening Everyone,

I hope you can give me a bit of a pointer. I have just got a Forester 2005 xt 2 Litre 177bhp. I have fitted a sports air filter giving it a plus of about 5bhp and an Spiralmax Turbo Blade in the exhaust giving an extra 5-7 BHP. So I'm around 188BHP.

Really not sure what to do and, with Chips and stuff in the ECU it may null the warranty ( Full Scooby One with 2 years left on it) and can they tell that the ECU has been opened?

I live near Bromsgrove in Worcs and would appreciate any pointers and, places near there that may be able to help and suggest stuff.

Thanks for any advice.

Kind regards

Alan MAC

Turbo blade in the exhaust giving an extra 5-7 BHP? wtf lol?

You could get a full decat exhaust, and maybe a piggy back ECU Such as a unichip to get the most from your exhaust and filter.

You could fit some striplights underneath each sideskirt ..... the heat generated creates lift and therefore a lighter car and is good for, at least, another 50BHP!!

Try http://www.subaruforester.org which is an American site, but there is a European section that a number of Scoobynet users frequent.

What are you trying to achieve with your modifications?

Most owners find handling modifications top of the list!

Why do the majority of people respond to new users in such a sarcastic way. The guy has innocently come on to a subaru forum for advice on his subaru, give newbies a chance ffs!!

Echo above comments above

Try PM'ing Andy Tang - he's got a modded Forester.

TBH, as you've got warrantee, I would be thinking about what's worth more - warrantee or mods. Or ask yoru friendly Subaru dealer for advice on what to fit that will not affect your warrantee

The other place to try (as you're relatively local), is Foresters Subaru (deal in all things Subaru) - they're based in Willenhall (Wolverhampton)

Speak to Ivan - great guy too

1. Remove the Spiralmax Turbo Blade and put it in the bin
2. Uprate the brakes
3. change the back box or full system if your warranty is not important to you
4. Go to dealer and buy the PPP

I'd go for option one at the least

It can't be a wind up... they spelt Forester correctly!

Single 'r' in Forester, like single 'z' in Impreza!

Default Making My Scooby A Bit Quicker

Hello Everyone,

As I said, thanks for all the advice & even the ones who took the Wee Wee. 2 Members endorsed Ivan @ Foresters in the West Midlands and, as it was local to me, I visited him.

What a great guy! He has sorted me big time and I am now ready to rock and, stand up for Scooby, with what he has done for my machine, at a very reasonable cost.

It's very worthwhile making contact. <www.forestersspares.co.uk>.

Thanks for all the advice.

Kind regards
