They seem fairly unpopular as many don't like the looks so you shouldn't have to pay much for it. Depends where you are getting it from I suppose but offer them £7k and see what the reaction is. Even better get a mate to offer them £7k and then you could come along and offer a bit more :-)

Yeah, i'd say £7k is on the low side, but i'd also say it is pretty much what it is worth in reality. The money just seems to be falling off Subarus at the minute, I've just got rid of my 03 STi and was offered £10.5k for it as a trade in, only 20,000 miles FSH etc. etc. In the end I did a bit better than that but even so i'd be talking in the £7k - £10k for the 02 car and if i was buying then i'd want it a lot closer to £7k :-)

i am currently looking for a 02 plate prodrive style sti and cant find a decent one anywhere.
i have looked at 5 between 13-14 k (traders) but they wasnt the best kept cars. for the car you are describing i would pay 11k private and abit more from a trader, add 1 k for ppp.to all the gimps stating pay 7k absolute dreamers. have a look on autotrader web or pistonheads or even ebay for the current prices .thats if you can find any with this mileage, history, cond, etc trust me ive been looking for weeks.
if anybody is selling a prodrive sti o2 with fssh, under 35 k miles, immac cond for under 12k pm me please.
scoobyneters makes me .

Cool

I went to look at 2002 STi Prodrive style about month back was at main dealers. Blue/Black micra 31K 1 owner plus dealer, good condition dealer offered to respray front bumber to cover up the usual stone chips. Car had PPP and the gauge pack & nurspec R, up for £15,995. 7K never get real. Out of interest got offered £12'000 px for my UK300 PPP

recently sold my 53 plate ( jan 04 ) STi UK with 36k on , after lots of messing about I only got £12.5k , market is reakky bad at the moment

It's al very well checking the autotrader prices but they can sit for months at those prices

re the one on here I would say 9.5-10k

Yeah, prices in Autotrader are not a reflection of actual selling.

Just sold a Clio 172 to finance the next toy, and prices in Trader £6295. I sold it for £5500 as I wanted to move it on without waiting around for ages.

Is it fair to say a car sells privately for the same money a trader would offer you now?

It's just much better taking cash to a purchase than buying off a dealer and trading in?

Just part exed my 52 plate sti 7 and was offered 14.5k for it, but it is a1 and has only done 18k miles, that was up against alot more pricey car though, it should be worth in my eyes around 11.5k

hedgehog, have you got the details of these 7k sti's for sale? Or perhaps you are selling one yourself.
Let me know as I am interested in getting one for a cheap run-around.
