would i need a re map? advice please

Default would i need a re map? advice please

i have a my95 sti 555 and have been thinking about removing the cats. would i need a re map/ecu or would it be ok without. every one says you need a remap if you de cat but i also read a post saying a my95 would be ok.

go for a re map mate,wont do ant harm and it'll improve your responses,not sure if its needed on your model,are you changing the air filter aswell if so a remap would be a good idea to take advantage of any potential power gains

its got a k/n panel filter already yeah.700 quid is a lot of money though aint it

i agree mate,but considering the way that these engines can go pop sometimes its money worth spending

It probably wouldn't need it, but it obviously can only do good - especially in the hands of someone who really knows what they are doing.

After my old MY95 WRX was fully decatted, the boost naturally upped to 0.9-1 bar whereas its 0.8 as standard.

Had a knocklink fitted, no activity whatsoever just using Optimax.

So, in my experience it probably will not need it, but if you do have it remapped it will release more bhp & torque and be better mapped for UK fuel.

Remap it mate...each car is different in how they respond to different upgrades...some 95 cars would be fine and others wont and it will blow.....play safe mate and get a power fc on it
