Default replacement wing mirror options

i have managed to bust the black edge of drivers side mirror on my 03wrx. the colour coded part and the glass electrics are fine.

I went to the local dealer and they wanted £276 + VAT for a entire unit fitted. that is a joke. they said it is almost impossible to take the unit apart and swapover parts and hecne why they only sell complete units.

I was thinking of changing both mirrors for a aftermarket one. I have seen m3 mirros which are supposdly a direct swap. for £60. anyone got any pictures of wrx's with this style of mirror does it look as chessy as i am dreading it will do.

any suggestions for cheper repair / replacement of the original mirror ?

These were fitted to my STI, and they did not look too bad at all.

I did manage to get genuine replacements on e-bay for an excellent price, so it may be worth a look there.
Just search subaru impreza mirror in all categories.

They were not electric, but only cost about £40 also on e-bay!
Fitting is a DIY job and takes about 30 minutes.
Piece of p*ss!
