Agreed, poor gear changing

Testarossa Performance
0-60 mph 5.3 seconds.
1/4 Mile 13.3 seconds at 105 mph
Top Speed 185 mph | 297.7 km/h Similar top speeds

For a Punto not too shabby at all

Tell you what though it's amazing to think many of us now drive a car with a similar performance to what used to be on our walls as a kid

Wonder if I'll be driving an Enzo beating family car when I'm 70?

clarson made a good comparison on top gear a while ago, when they had the renault formula 1 car.

he said somethin about a race car 20 years ago was as fast as a modern half decent car now, so in 20 years we will all have cars as fast as a f1 car now

8-900bhp

well he said somethin like that lol

You cant really compare classic performance cars against modern (obviously with a couple of exceptions)..

Look at things like the old Jag E-Type, in its prime that was considered blistering performance, pathetic by todays standards.

Its not a comparison as such, basically the E-Type, like you say had 'blistering' performace in its day, but now, family cars can beat it... so in a few years time... we'll all drive current F1 beating cars... awesome !!

Interesting to see those Testarossa performance specs - last year I ran a 13.3@107 in my (front wheel drive of course) Clio at Santa Pod, although admittedly that was the fastest Clio in the country at the time. Was on road tyres though.

As far as the E-type goes, it might not be as fast as some family cars, but it's a damn sight better looking. You can turn up at the casino in Monte Carlo in a Golf R32 if you want LOL, I'll take the Jag.
