Default when was the "dccd" put on the STi ?

Hi One and All,

In my continued search for an STi does anyone know when the "dccd" was introduced ?

I've looked at a few MY53 STi's in Autotrader that mention having it, but most do not. The one I test drove did not have it. Is it because they are Jap imports, or is that about the time they came in ?

Is it a gimmick (like the water spray) or does it work if you are giving it some round the twisties ?

Cheers,
Graeme.

on uk sti it came in with the 05 spec (you can get 54 plates with 05 spec), but WR1 edition also had it fitted and this was from 04.

not sure about imports.

If that's the case, it looks like the 53 plater's with dccd are imports.

Anyone else know ??

Hi mate, hoskib is correct it was on UK cars for the WR1 and my05 cars on.
On imports been around for years on the RA and Type R. It's not a gimmick but good fun you can have some tail out fun and sideways drifts on roundabouts but it can take a while to get used to it. When I changed from a WRX to a Type R v-ltd it $hit me up a few times at first especially in the wet!
An ex scooby owner who has an evo now once said his type r took 6months to master but his evo took 6 minutes !
Cheers

Thanks for the info.

I've looked at a few threads praising the EVO lately. It may be time to turn to the dark side and have a test drive !!

Cheers,
Graeme.
