That's not such a bad idea . . . . .. But how do you wash your car with those . .I am so accustomed to jet washes, I am not sure I can get my head around the bucket and sponge . . . . Am I right that a jet wash used effectively is more efficient that a hose on it own . .Anyhow . . .

Add a kettle of boiling water to the cold water in the bucket, makes it a little more bearable!

2 bucket method is no good on black cars, not unless you like the swirlly scratched look. Find a mate that lives in Essex and Suffolk Water region and use his hose.

i hope at the jet wash u only use the hose and not the brush. The brush is the same as washing the car with a bucket half full of water and the other half with grit.
The other problem with bucket and watering can is that u cant really rinse the car off proper and when u go to wipe of excess water off u end up scratching the car cause theres little bits of dirt that would normally be blown of with a hose.

Do most of guys use a chamios(spell check) or one of those turtle wax rubber blade thingys(technical term)?

and plastic watering can works ok then just use a chamois to dry it off

I am not joking here, but put a good sized bucket in the boot and head for your nearest riverbank. When the ban was here in Suffolk I used to head off to the River Deben and wash the car beside the road by using the bucket as a ladle and washing the car beside the road. Nowhere in the water authorities exemptions does it say that you cannot syphon water from the rivers to wash your car

Am sure you could still use your own hose, but for better washing info you should ask here
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=380

The 2 bucket method is well recomm, but don't use a sponge, see the above link...

A cleaner polish and wax will do the job if it is not too dirty (i.e road film).

I use some valeter's stuff which the name escapes me (made by Concept).

Thumbs up

It might also help if you have a mate who owns a business premises, as these , as I understand, are exempt from the ban . . . . .So you can go there with your jet wash . .

Yes . . It's called bending the rules and being dodgy - but hey! That's what life is all about!

It also says on three valleys waters site under the heading 'jet washers'.'It only applies if a jet wash is used to wash a PRIVATE CAR but for other uses we would encourage our users to be sensible'.As my cars a buisness car i guess i could bend the rules?

Exactly why not . . .A clean car = road safety as it is more visible/identifyable!. . .If anything happened to it, it's not good for business . .Watertight argument!

(No pun intended)

In some countries it is illegal do drive in a filthy car!
