Default PEOPLE WAVING????

A mate of mine borrowed the car the other day, drove out of his housing estate (comprising of a few hundred homes, many of which are small families)

Nice sunny day, all the kids out playing. as he crawled out of the streets, the usual rumble of the exhaust caught the attention of all the kids all out playing.

He said it was great, all the nice car mr comments but he siad he didnt really know where to look...

Ever noticed this your self?

If so, how do you react?

ps, i get more little nods a waves frompassers by than i do from other scoob owners....

also....

is it uncool if you in a classic to wave to another model ie a bug or blobeye and vice versa?

just everymorning, i get filthy looks from 4 guys when i wave at them, i purposly do it now as i like to think im ruining there day lol

sitting at lights in busy town centres used to be like sitting in a fish bowl sometimes plus i think some people just arent into the whole waving thing as they arent enthusiasts and just car drivers

I wave to all Scoobs, classic, newage, even Sport/GX's. Most wave back if they've seen you in time. The appreciation from kids can be fun, but sometimes not if they are of a certain type of kid. If they're the decent type I may drop the clutch and give them a blip of the throttle for a laugh.

The people on the streets that always wave at my scoob seem to be wearing the same tracksuits as Elton John......

Must be Rent boys.

Subaru's image is still as good as ever

alot of the classic cars now are enthusiast owned, which is my point, theres a classic follows me and the same cars flash at him but 1. Whats all that about...

alot of the new ones are rep owned and its just a car to some, so i can see them not waving

just a bit strange lol

to the kids in the streets that shout nice car m8 i always give them the thumbs up and smile. to the scooby coming the other way i always flash my lights then wave. (some still dont wave back ). whilst being parked at the side of the road ive had scoobys come past me and pip there horn i then pip back at them. and the best one of all was. this old guy pulled up behind me in a classic sonic blue and he put boths thumbs up at me. HE MUST OF BEEN IN HIS 60'S with his dear old wife just popping her head above the dash next to him.

I usually get "I want your car" everytime I drive past kids, makes me chuckle.
I wave to any scooby I see but dont always get one back.
Theres a bloke I see about in a red classic and he must be over 70 easily, I dont think hes too keen on waving either.

Just had the running in service today on my first scoob. 31 days of waving at scoobs. OK I'm a happy newbie but I thought I would test the scooby waving legend .

I've found that most impreza's wave back, save for the odd grumpy one.
As for the rest of the range - not one wave back.

Do you get more waves in certain areas than others?

I live in Essex but have found that Hertfordshire scoobys wave more.

Classics also wave more.

You let a mate borrow your car????

Would you also let him borrow your GF, it amounts to the same thing as far as I'm concerned!

BTW Wave at any scooby, I even wave at Evo's if the driver looks friendly!

i always wave at other scoobys when im in mine, and usually get a wave back but not always.

the novelty has worn off a bit when u have owned 4 scoobys.

u get the good attention but bad as well.

it's weird how when im driving my rs turbo or the punto gt all i get is dirty looks from other rs owners and from the public. mayb coz my rs looks better than theirs, and in the punto people think im 2 old 4 it

what i hate is when i go out in the subaru like 2 tgi fridays loads of kids have a good look and they get very close, then in the mornin u spot i tiny little dent jus where that kid was leanin on it.

Nothing worse than waving then to realise that it is some 'farmer type' woman!!! Happened to me a few times - always gets the wife laughing at me!!!

Im on my 2nd classic.

My first one I had loads more attention, as it was a bit chavved up -

MY 95 WRX: lexus rears (I know - bought with them on!), 4.5" Ninja, STi 5 rear spoiler, JUN front spoiler - and also in bright shiny silver all colour coded etc.

Current -

MY00 UK Turbo : basically standard outside apart from full crystals, mid level spoiler, Magnex 6x4 oval, standard black sills in DBM.

I still get the kids having a look etc., as its still a loud old beasty but nowhere near as much as the shinier, more in your face WRX with the big spoiler and exhaust.

I prefer the subtle look these days in my old age anyway, but after my recent Tek3 its just as quick as the WRX
