Doesn't a KnockLink detect knocking noises?
I've been thinking of getting one fitted, maybe put a couple of sensors on the doors and boot and floorpan - it will tell you about knocking and whether you need to do anything about it. Indeed a knocklink is so good it will probably adjust the doors and gaps to stop the noises!?
Oil change ... oh dear, oh dear, I did a search on that yesterday - I'm going with the Old Women on here and will be carrying out the **** Version 4.12a - or my engine will melt!

I suggest you ask them to follow the **** Procedure, if they try to trick you into believing they know what they are doing just ask this question, "How long do you soak the Oil Filter"
If they say anything less than 12 hours then they are NOT carrying out the **** Procedure and I would go elsewhere!

Just mind the police don't nick you for having LED lighting in the car, cause at 5 LED's per knocklink you'll have plenty.
OOP'S hope pslewis doesn't see this!!!!

Wonder why Main Dealers do not do that then?
You do know that more damage is done churning the engine over on the starter at low revs don't you?

you have removed the oil filter that lets air into the system so when you start the engine for a few secs you are running dry with no pressure not saying you are wrong just thats the way i have all ways done it

So the subaru has now got the first air tight oil system ??
Oil change or not : As soon as you turn off the ignition the oil starts flowing back to the sump! The thing is it would takes weeks if not months for all of the oil to dissipate from every surface of the engine, that is the nature of motor oil!
There is ZERO LOGIC in doing this **** oil change. none what so ever, its a complete waste of time! And you've got more change of ****ing something up because you've spent so much time pissing around with primeing the oil filter and un-plugging sensors.

errrrr but once you turn the engine off you have no oil pressure anyway! the oil pump pumping is what creates the oil pressure so no pump pumping = no pressure, so taking that into consideration everytime you start the car you have zero oil pressure until the pump has pumped enough to pressurise the system.
Also engine oils sticks to thinks and is not automatically all dumped into the sump as soon as you switch the engine off, also even when you drain the sump and refill it there is still oil coeating all the moving parts as that does not get flushed out either.
Scoobynet! I reckon it should be re-named to Brainwash Central.
