The JDM WRX was IRO 240bhp, where the STi benefited with revisions by Subaru Technica International, pushing output to 280bhp. I'm no expert on classics, so I don't know if they benefited with any other revisions such as suspension or engine internals
The P1 is to all intents a JDM STi V5 (IIRC), breathed on by Prodrive and officially imported and warrantied. I don't think there's much difference between the two TBH. It was a move by IM/Subaru UK to cash in on the interest in the higher spec JDM cars as opposed to the 208bhp UK Turbo. The new-age chassis which is now in its third cosmetic revision (bugeye/blobeye/hawkeye) was reported to be 200% more rigid than the outgoing classic. The car grew a little bigger and a bit heavier (better made), but also got a little more power up to 215bhp. The turbo delivery was more progressive than in the classic, leading to comments about it being slower as it had lost a little of the "shove in the back". As the new shape evolved into blobeye, power crept up with the WRX getting 225, with 265 available with the PPP. The STi came in 02 offering 260bhp and 280 PPP'd with the piggyback ECU. The blobeye STi rose to 265 and 305 with the new swapout ECU.
I may have made a mistake or two, but that's how I remember it. I await correction by those more knowledgeable.

JDM STI's were first released in late 93 and up to the end of 94 were 250bhp then they were pushed up to 275bhp until the facelift in late 96 early 97 where they were increased again to 280bhp where they became on par with the WRX (although the STI was always better spec in terms of performance parts i.e engine internals, brakes, suspension etc)
Have no idea about the bug eye onwards, sorry. Hope this helps though.
3/ weight on a new age bugeye wrx is 1385kg(saloon)
and 1410kgs(estate) so power to weight is 155bhp per ton and 152bhp (estate), as classic 94-98 is 1235kgs and 1270kgs ptw is 171bhp 98-2000 is 174bhp
