Just noticed this on my dashboard just to the right of the tax disc, it looks to have a sensor in it???? edit to ad it's about the size of a twenty pence piece.

Can't really make it out properly mate. Could be a sensor for automatic windscreen wipers maybe.

What model/year of car is it on...?

I was told (but not listening properly!) that it is a light sensor something to do with the aircon system needing to know if it was day or night, something light/dark & demist related.

or was I dreaming?

I wish I had any scoob let alone a 22b!

My son Charlie brought on a "baby forces sale" moment over 18 months ago so the sti2 had to drive off into the sunset Our plan is well on track so the type R cometh.

It looks like a luminesecence sensor for the intensity of the sun on a car with climate control (as opposed to just aircon) if the sun is bright it will blow more cold air at your torso so as to cool the bit being heated by direct radiation (at least thats how it works on a Land Rover - no reason for anything else to be different!)

Ive wondered what this sensory looking thing does, just assumed it was a temp. sensor of some sort for the climate control????

Bonjour Ads, hows everything at the 'clinic', still flat out? Rob/Mark having fun with my engine? I'll probably pop up on sat to drop my wheels off with some fresh rubber on them .... and have a general nosey
