Cool Buncefield Hoseway Code!!!

I did not realise that hoses also had to follow the Highway Code

It is a picture of the firehoses going round the roundabout at the Buncefield incident!

Well I thought it was funny as they could have reduced the hose lenght significantly by going straight across!

Must just be me then

A Hose Layer appliance would have layed them, if they had cut the corner they may have compromised access to the site. Would probably only saved two lengths per line anyway.

is there a reason that on of the fire engines is parked across the hoses..? ~7 o'clock

He was standing on top of one of the petrol tanks tying to get a good shot of the fire.
The picture was salvaged from a slightly singed Nikon found about a mile away along with pair of still smouldering boots.

I have been told it was taken from a crane which leads me to think...

...how tall was that crane

I have this photo among numerous others ..... As far as I know it was taken by the Met Police helicopter .....

That's interesting as this photo is from a private set taken by an insurance assessor. I didn't think they had published them....mind you they could have been sharing the same crane/helicopter
