great cars (I have one)...
Main questions to be asking self are:
1. What do I want the car for (ie main purpose)
2. Am I happy with an (ample) 215 Horsepower with LOTS of low down torque, good for b-roads etc, or do I want more of a high revving race -track car (with a more than ample 255 horsepower).
Good points:
Cheaper group 17 insurance
Can be run on optimax without octane boost without oo many worries
Very practical
Less unwanted attention than saloon
Bad points:
Intercooler much smaller than 1997 model
Smaller turbo than uk version (see question 2 to self)
Things to look out for:
Generally reliable cars - just look out for normal wear and tear. you should be able to get a lower mileage example without difficulty or by one from an enthusiast who know what he is doing. I would go for an un modified example with a low mileage engine. Having said that, I know ther are a few high milers out there.
