Anyone know a Scottish guy with a silver classic "L50 WRX" ?
I know this is going to sound like an odd post, and maybe it's not even allowed, but I keep getting harassing phone calls from a bloke who apparently now owns a '96 silver WRX that I sold nearly 2 years ago.
The first time I got a call from this bloke was at about 1.30 at night and he left a message on my answerphone. He had a really strong Scottish accent and was smashed/stoned off his face, slurring his words so much that I couldn't understand anything he said really (other than saying "ar*e" a lot!) but I got the feeling that he was fed up with a problem with the car and had got my number from somewhere and wanted to give me some abuse about it. I've no idea what the problem was.
Then I just got another call from him this evening. Again, he sounded really drunk and cheesed off but I still didn't get what his problem was. Maybe this will make more sense to you than me:
Him: "(blah blah blah, couldn't understand a word he was saying) your Subaru Impreza"
Me: "What, the Subaru Impreza I used to own?"
Him: "Yeah"
Me: "Right ......... what about it?"
Him: "Have you still got it?" - that really puzzled me - is he reading a 2004 copy of the Auto Trader?!
Me: "No, I sold it a long time ago"
Him: "Oh, how much did you get for it?" - not that it was any of his business!
Me: "Erm ...... I can't remember now"
Him: "Cos it was a pile of shi*e"
And then he hung up before I had a chance to ask him what the hell he's going on about. I've no idea who this bloke is - does anyone know him? (Please don't write his name and address on here - this isn't a manhunt or a vendetta - I just want to know what this bloke is hassling me for!). If he's got my phone number, he's probably got my address as well so I'd rather talk to him before he gets really wound up one night and turns up on my doorstep
I part-exchanged the car with a dealer around August 2004, with a rebuilt engine and a brand new gearbox and a whole bunch of new security. As far as I know, he passed it straight on to another dealer he knew that specialised in Jap performance cars, and then I spoke to the bloke that bought it from that garage. He was really pleased with it and I spoke with him at length a couple of times.
So anyone know how the Scottish bloke fits into this story?!
Incidentally, if you've seen the "L50 WRX" plate around your way but it's not on a silver MY96 WRX, then the car and registration number have been split and it's not that car that I'm trying to track down.
