Default WRX STI RA Standard against modified

Have been looking at buying a 95 wrx sti ra 4 door, totally standard , just imported. It's not the cheapest, but has plenty of paperwork, warranted miles etc, Japanese auction report and so on. Just wondering if i am better going for the likes of that, rather than a car that has a few mods done to it already. My intention is to prepare for a few track days, it will not be a daily runner.

A pukka fresh import, graded 3.5 or ideally 4, will be a wiser purchase. At about 270 bhp all a95 STI RA will need is decent brakes, rear sway bar & links and decent geometry.....
