Default non working spoiler brake light/mot fail?

As above, mine is not working it's not the standard one but small stealth one fitted to a MRO spoiler ,the wiring to the plug is ok. Any way just need to know if it's a fail point or not.

Thank's mike...

I think the law is if something like that is fitted it must work. Thats my interpretation anyway.

Front fog lamps are not in the mot testing. Mine have broken/cracked glass and pass every mot, the mot tester doesnt even try them to see if they are working. I'm not sure if the centre brake light is part of the mot requirement

I'm sure you are correct on that one.

If it is visible then it should work e.g. people may be watching it for an indication of your braking).

If you need a quick temporary fix, then tape it over. But I would recommend fixing it.

Mike, all cars since the mid nineties must have a mid level brake light, however, i reckon the tester would have to be pretty clued up to spot it......

You coming tomorrow eve...??

the high level brake light is included, had a mot on the soot monstor yesterday, it was one of the ones he checked on the rear,

the only ones you can get away with are

front fogs..

and reversing lights

This could throw a spanner in the works but mine passed my mot the other day. My spoiler light has never worked since i've had the car and my reversing lights packed up a few months ago!!
