Scoobs with foglights vs. other cars with foglights
#1
Don't know if I've been slow in noticing this, but:
On 'ordinary' cars the base models have blanking plates in the bumpers, and the 'posh' models have foglights.
On Imprezas, the ordinary models (UK turbo, WRX) have foglights and the 'posh' ones (STi) have blanking plates.
What's going on? Is it a Jap thing?

Damn expensive them covers!
I'm thinking about getting some covers - the fogs are utterly useless so you might as well cover them up anyway!

I've tried my front foglights once...In fog...What a waste of time!
I'm also thinking of removing them and replacing them with cold air ducting or having fog-light covers.
But then again, a mate has got driving lamps fitted. Makes up for the crap headlamps!

Squizz, ditch 'em and get the PIAA 80 Pro XTs. You can get the lamps alone for around 160 quid, and another 20 quid will get you everything you need to fit 'em.

I don't know about the STi's but on the P1, ou don't have fogs but 'Driving Lights'. You can't turn these on by themselves but have to have full beam on, (is this the same on standard UK cars?). Anyway it means you can't drive around 'looking cool' with your fog lights turned on permanently and blinding other drivers.

My mate installed driving lights instead of fogs and its like daylight when he puts em on full beam at night. I think the wirings prone to burning out though (so I read on here somewhere!)

The one good thing about winter is it's dark on the way to and from work, so the PIAAs are on every day...
Best thing since sliced bread; the standard fog lights are a complete waste of space.
And there's nothing like 360 watts of full beam to let someone know you're displeased.

Web Pimp, apparently!
Well, I've successfully followed your pearls of wisdom before with my K&N57i - So I may just do it. Especially considering my current route to/from work this winter... Thanks for the tip Chiark. [/b]

The sport does have fogs - well my MY99 does. Not sure about the older ones though. As an aside, the sport also has the hill holder which is great until you drive a car without one and forget!!
