Default oil catch tank???? (done a search)

I was looking through a tuning site and came across a oil catch tank, Done a search and every one is talking about venting some pipes..... which pipes

Has n e one got n e desent pictures of a tank they've fitted showing the pipe work and everything?

received my RCM catch tank this week & very cofused, so this would be useful to me also.

LOL you should really do this the other way round - find the problem first, THEN look at how to fix it.

But anyway, the Impreza is prone to venting the crankcase oil breather into the induction tract at full throttle. Exactly when you don't want octane-destroying oil fumes being burnt in your engine. So the idea is to vent the fumes out to atmosphere (or back into your induction tract as Subaru intended) via an oil catch tank.

The crankcase breather is the worst culprit, but there are also two more breathers, one on each cam cover. IIRC these aren't hardly a problem at all.

BTW if you email RCM they should be able to email you some pictures of an engine bay without the inlet manifold so you can see where your catch tank goes and where the pipes come from.

Fitted this yesterday, Hyperflow oil catch can.

thanks for the pics, is this a mod I should have?. . . what are the pros and cons? And are these oil gases causing any damage
