Thats a difficult question to answer. Dealers in them can charge 100's of percent over private.

Best bet is to put it in autotrader with "offers" and see what response you get first time round. Thats assuming we are talking a reg that is worth £1000+ and not just a few hundred.

Like anything it is worth what someone will pay you for it.

What is the reg? Might help people give you an idea.

On the basis that it's a single number, I would say it's worth in excess of £500, but like everything, it's only worth what someone would pay for it.

Look at some of these registration dealers - they have 2 letter and 2 number plates for sale for years because they price them too high.

I was looking at getting AD ** at a DVLA auction - I was prepared to spend about £4K all in - in fact, it went for £4200 but buyers premium, VAT, etc was etc so I couldn't afford it. About a week later, it was on new reg for £11995 + VAT! Believe it or not, over 14 months later, it still hasn't sold (just checked their website).
