Mine played up a while back, causing eratic idle.I had changed the maf, checked for leaks etc,but after taking the idle valve apart and cleaning with wd40 a couple of times it stopped playing up.....and has run sweet on tickover ever since.

When i approached local subaru dealer they gave there usual sarcastic comments..."oohhh! jap import, the parts are completely different to uk models, you,ll need to get one from japan"

Anyway i had phoned Grade A,and they quoted me £75 for a used idle valve, which they thought where exactly the same as the uk 99 idle valve.
Subaru quoted £270 for a new uk idle valve !!!

Hope that helps J

Not sure Rob.

MAF's been replaced. Lambda's being replaced. ICV's been cleaned () so if, after this lot, it's still not idling correctly it must be a faulty ICV.

Rob (or anyone), do we have an Inlet Temp Sensor on our's (MY99). One of the lads in technical said the reason i'm getting a -40 reading is because it's missing or disconected but wasn't sure if the "earlier cars" have them.

Fecking car modifying - this is the last one I ever do!!

Think im right in saying that the ecu has data on
" Intake temperature - Degrees C (This is not charge temp)"
This must come from somewhere?
