Default MY06 PPP

Not a whisper..........

Was the MY06 enough to tempt buyers into the dealers to get the March figures up?

Normally there is the carrot of free service or PPP. Nothing yet.

But is this being saved for later in the year when the next model is even closer?

I couldn't wait - MY06 on order [shame]

Question

When, during the MY05 model year did Subaru start offering PPP FOC?

Cheers.

Dave.

PPP was offered as a freebie from about August 05. I suspect this was a sweetener to clear the stocks of MY05 cars rather than anything else . Incidentally if you buy an MY05 car, the PPP is £1000 for WRX and £1400 for STi - so even if you buy an MY05 now you won't get PPP without some haggling. I doubt the MY06 PPP will be free until maybe this time next year - if it's even released by then.

As suggested already, free PPP for the MY06 will be available just as soon as official sources have confirmed the MY07 is going to be way better and cost not much more.
Why don't they just build a decent one and bloody stick with it for a few years

The MY07 will be a 3.0Litre 6 Cylinder.

It will be a HatchBack, so no need for a Wagon and saloon.

It will be £19,999 with 0%APR Payments - to get it off to a flying start.

It will look fantastic.

Classics and the MY07 will be the choice for Impreza buyers .... the rest will be considered ugly stop-gaps.

My Classic will be sold to make way for a MY07 on my driveway .... it's the only one with a chance of enchanting me

1) PPP should be announce by IM 31st March worst 28th April (I'd plum for the middle)

2) MY06 PPP will be cheaper than previous PPP's (WRX £1000 & STi £1200 )

3) Get your orders in quick and name on list or you could end up being last in a long queue

As per usaul PPP won't convert a Lamb into a Tiger, but PPP will certainly improve the Drivability of the Car with the all important Warranty

Tony

Ps I was going to mention rumours Delays were from 4) Trying to get the correct amount of heatsoak & 5) Detuning the Bright switch. LOL

PPP was offered as a freebie from about...
May 2005, or possibly earlier. We took delivery of our STi in June and got the PPP free.

Cheers

There was Talk about 2 levels like the USA. I think Prodrive and IM will be glad to a one out for each before delving into 2 Stage PPP's.

But as the gossip rumour goes Stage 1PPP Sti £1200 and WRX £1000 and stage 2 PPP STi £2000 WRX £1600

IIRC £1600 for WRX and £1995 for STi

Deals are out there thye are trying to lower Stock levels of MY05 cars and MY05 PPP's, the MY06 PPP is completely to MY05.

Your dealer may know the approx price, well maybe !! but he wouldn't know the BHP untill IM(Subaru UK) announce it. Only Mike Wood and God will know the Figures before IM.

IMHO.

BTW I've always been a big fan of PPP and stuck up for it's Merits but saying that, I'm not a great fan of the new 2.5Ltr engine, hence the 2.0Ltr JDM

Sorry Pete but you should know never to buy a "totally" new car when it is first released. Its best to let those rich keen ones discover the initial teething problems.
So really the 2007 should be a 2008 purchase.
Of course the front end styling will be crippled buy pedestrian friendly rules. The performance will be stunted by emissions rules and the weight from the crash test passing needs.

You will want to keep that warranty valid so its main dealer servicing all the way. (oil changing filter filling cheap shot )

I'm a fan of the Classic as it looks solid. I've just got my MY06 and I like it but it does look a little pretty and fragile next to the Classic which is iconic. Mine is black too so there is a bit of a Knight Rider look - except its a wagon!!!

What I should have said Is if I owned a 2.5l STiUK I would only invest in PPP because of Engine Warranty and hopefully the Pistons will last 3 years. I wouldn't even change the B/Box or Panel filter for risk of losing that Warranty

When it's blows, hopefully the don't refit the same Pistons as the Originals.

IMHO IIRC

Rob,
Yes it is.

Like you, i was keenly awaiting the 2.5Ltr STi November I was just going to order one, but those couple of Emails put me off, hence I went the tried and tested 2.0l route.

Back on topic

With the soon arrival of 2.5STi PPP I'd deffinately advice everyone to go for PPP and retain Warranty, rather than doing a risky warranty losing Mod.

Nothing I've seen or heard over the last 3 months has made me regret my choice, but Warranty will play a big role in the new 2.5LSTi's. IMHO IIRC AFAICR etc.
