Default rather funny noise

my98 classic 2000 turbo has just developed a funny noise.Started the babe up 2 nite and let her warm up after warm up noticed a rather strange noise bit like a fan belt squeaking as i accelarated can any body tell me wot it may b ??HELP as i dont want to drive it as it may cause more damage if its serious

The fan belt squeaking?

Does it come on when you get to turbo boost?

Nothing stupid like an air vent is it?

Wheel bearing?

Is it continuous or does the sound vary with speed?

if it only happens when you pull away in 1st could be clutch pressure plate.

the noise is constant comes on abot 2k revvs does not sound like a fan belt squeek as it is there through the box

Could be a Timingbelt ideler, or tentioner. I would get it checked out with garage A.S.A.P

had the cambelt canged nov 05 could this b the cause?
