Really??
Just seen this question being asked about a chip on ebay.
hi there, i have a 92 wrx with filter full group n decat zorst +decat up pipe and a avc-r fitted you say its no good if you have a fmic what effect would it hav and also what about a bigger tmic many thanks daz.. o and where did you have your rollin road done
A:If you have a bigger intercooler especially a front mount you will run lean as you will have more air than fuel going into the engine. I had the rolling road done at Power Engineering as it says on the printout picture...?
Is this correct? how can a front mount provide more are than a top mount?

No thats crap. Intercooler only cools it, Has no affect on the amount that goe`s in.
But im no expert. I maybe wrong.

Don't know about running lean etc but - the PPP upgrade includes a high flow intercooler hose to allow more air. Likewise, a larger intercooler will allow more air so a remap would be required to get everything working properly.
not sure if I'm talking about the right thing.

Surely a FMIC which has a bigger area cools air more efficiently than a TMIC.
A TMIC is starved of airflow because of front end dynamics when driven at high speed, more often with classic scoops.

My understanding is that a front mount will cool the air more than a top mount. The cooler the air is, the more dense it is. The more dense it is, the more can fit in the pipe.

Don't make no difference, ECU will adjust fuel mixture as required. Cooler the air going in, the better. No advantage to mega big intercooler though, unless running ALS, just loads of lag.

The advantages of a FMIC are that it is not exposed to high under bonnet
tempratures, yes they do create more lag due to the extended pipework.
The idea is to get the charge tempratures down, which in turn gives more
power, as for making the engine run lean, utter nonsense.
