6500 with the beeper sounding as well as the light flashing. I sometimes lower it to show off to passengers. As Deva says above, eyes are on the road!!! At 6500, the gear change will happen about 7000 which is where my TSL 333 conversion starts to run out of pull!!

Didnt know you could switch it off. Can you set it to have light without buzzer because since I had some work done which needed the dashboard out the light works but no buzzer, which is strange coz it bleeps when i am setting it ?

The on/off is set after you dial up the rpm.

5500, which seems a good compromise between the torque beginning to tail off, and bhp still rising

turned off as a waste of time. If you don't know when to change gear you should drive an automatic

In theory i agree but in the heat of the moment/red mist whatever you want to call it, you can sometimes get carried away.
In previous cars i can say i have hit the rev limiter by accident and its like hitting a brick wall.
I think its a handy little reminder, but each to their own.

Your post was a waste of time!

The rev Light serves as a visual reminder to help you achieve a better gear change while navigating with the distracting world passing by out of all the windows . Makes no sense to have it off, when it's there and serves a purpose. You should know when to change gear but under some circumstances with everything else to keep track of and the acceleration through the rev range on these cars it can be a useful driving aid

So with everything else going on you drive looking at your dash clocks

Hope I don't meet you coming the other way on a road without a central reservation

No thats the whole point of the light , your looking at the road and with the clocks below your focused position you are able to see the red glow as the light comes on and therefore you know your at your limit. If i was looking at the clocks then there would be no need for the light as i would just see the needle position

Mine beeps and flashes @ 6,400 as i showed a friend last night. So i guess i'm changing at about 6,800? But definitely below 7pm.

I think it is a good idea and will leave it on. I know when to change to gear but it's a nice reminder while your eyes are glued to the warp speed tarmac

mine does not beep and it's not a issue for me so the light will do fine . Just can't see the point in not using it when it's already built into the cluster

Set it to 0rpm and it neither flashes or bleeps. After you set it there's another option, On and Off, which is for the bleeper.

Set it 6/Off it flashes, but doesn't bleep, at 6000rpm. Set it to 6/On and it flashes and bleeps.

Or you could RTFM!
