Just had a look at the docs for my car. it's a 94 wrx jdm import. on the v5 is correctly states that it's a 2.0 wrx and on the new style mot test sheet for the emissions it's listed as a 1.8 non turbo and not even a sport.
how the hell does that work? i thought that these new tests were done on the computer so all info is stored and verified by vosa and the dvla?
suits me fine if it still passed as i guess that the cat is working ok. i would expect that the emissions from the wrx are greater than that of the non turbo because of state of tune and extra displacement.
was wondering if any other import owners have noticed this with the new style mot?

i'll have search for it........ oh i can't it's not working at the moment
one thing i would like to know is the cut of date for needing a cat on the car by law? i know it was 1994 but not sure which month? with my car being a 1994 it could work out as a bonus if i can prove the month of manufacture and then not worry about having a de cat system

I wouldnt be too concerned; 1.8 is the first model on the list and a high percentage of imported cars are recorded as such. Of course; if it doesnt state a correct model then you cant have you emissions tested can you.....?

Mine is due it's mot in the next two weeks, I will look out for this! It is a 2.0 turbo wrx import so it could well be wrong on the mot.
As long as it passes....

Bl**dy DVLA - If the police stop you and want to see your documents I bet they make a fuss about it as if it's your fault!! On the plus side you could try insuring it as a 1.8 non-turbo - you've got the docs to prove it!

i want to work for the dvla, seems like you can make a real hash of things and still get paid for doing it and no-one will worry.
i didn't think of trying to insure it as a 1.8. knowing my luck i'd need to claim and the insurance company wouldn't pay out because of undeclared mods. although that said i told them about the after market exhaust and wheels and they didn't even bother to include them on the policy to start with and then when they did it didn't put the price up.
