BLX! Dammed overspray on my car!
I had my car fully undersealed last year about october time. I got it done as I was getting my car back from an engine re build.
When I got it back the paint was really rough feeling as if it had overspray on it. Looking back I really should have took it straight back but my car got sort of put to the side for a while as I had other commitments.
Glen @ Carnetix cleaned the stuff off my windows with some really fine wire wool and it was a reddish colour as it came off.
OBviously I cant do this on the rest of my car and it is worse on the roof and bonnet.
You cant really see it, it just makes the paint feel rough.
I polised my car three times last weekend and a lot of it was coming off but it still feels the same.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm pretty f**ked off

What polish are you using? Might not be aggressive enough.
You could try a clay bar but I doubt it will work. Might be worth going over the car with rag soaked in cellulose thinner (althou DO NOT do this if you've had chips away or any aerosol repairs done to the paintwork....and keep well away from plastic and rubber). Try it on one panel, it may be strong enough to shift it without using abrasive products.
IMO if it is overspray, really you need to take to a body shop and get them to mop it with some more aggressive cutting compound and a machine polisher. As although you can get it from Halfords and the like and do it by hand, you need to be careful to avoid getting swirl marks.

If its just surface like you say then use a decent polish (i used to use Hand glaze) with a 'waffle head' (soft foam pad) and machine polish it with that. its easier and less painful on the arms...Good Tricep workout tho.. ...
As ali-b has already stated.

you could also try finnese which any good bodyshop supplier will stock abrasive enough to remove overspray and won,t cut to much paint from your car. can be applied by hand or with a machine mop but as said keep away from sharp edges and do these by hand

if its only underseal panel wipe (degreaser) will get it off if its more stuborn and you have no polishing machine then t cut the easiest to use by hand if you use a machine cutting compound (ie farecla g3) by hand then wet the cloth with water to thin the compound before use alternativly take it to a good valeter or bodyshop for a buff up

Don't live near the Clancy's works in the West Midlands do you?
The fall-out from there kills car paintwork...guess what it is...fine dark red dots welded to the paint

clay bar does not work for this, i have just got my car back from some reapirs and it had overspray on the boot. i tried a clay bar and it had little to no effect. I remembered that i had some swissol cleaner fluid. it worked a treat, and left no scratches.

A whole bottle of T Cut did the trick over the weekend. Took about 4-5 applications in places but now it is smooth smooth smooth
Just needs a good waxing now! Before my arms fall off!
