classic v newby
just a quick question.......got a classic 94 import wrx running scoobyecu, decat, filter, exhaust so expecting around the 270-280 mark.
apparantly my particular model only weighs 1200kg due to plastic bonnet, cardboard doors etc...being an import,so all the sti ppp newbys which are throwing around the 330 mark out,but weighing a portly 1450kg,should be nothing in it really performance wise?
never come up against one yet to compare? any one know ?

So Subaru are wasting their time continually trying to improve on the original.
I mean the adding more bhp and torque, better handling (wow drive a post 04 and experience on raiils joy), more engine refinement, quieter cockpit and improved fuel consumption
- what where they thinking off!
I'm sure the pre 2000 folks will be along in a moment to explain why (don't take this too seriously I'm only jesting; but every car forum people claim their car is better then anything new).
Anyone want to bring back Maggie Thatcher and 8 track tapes ?

Okay, I can't resist this... according to those figures the newer scooby comes in at 227bhp/tonne, and yours is 233bhp/tonne so yes it looks like it could have an advantage. And lighter cars always have the braking / manuevrability advantage (Caterham, etc...) but the real advantage of a classic is... it looks better !

the newage has its advantages... the bodyshell is a lot stiffer, can run more power through its shell and handles better..... is also more refined on the road with a better cabin. The classics are lighter and therefore faster but i know which id prefer to have an accident in. The debate can go for ages and i have deliberated myself many times

OK being as though you are asking a question..... before it can be answered let us know what your talking about ..........???
Drag strip
Race track
0-60
0-100
In gear acceleration
Of course none of the questions can actually be answered because it 100% depends on the driver.
You'll have to excuse our stupid answers but when there is no way of answering its hard to try.

the P1 took a pasting. and i think it was up on power from std and was loosing a fair bit of time per lap.
power to weight doesn't always help it seems if you've got some new eletronic gadgetry to help you go round corners
as for the **** taking, there's been alot of 'my cars faster than yours' threads posted by newbies recently and while your first post seemed an ok question to ask to me, i think a few people were expecting the usual.
and as for scoobynet being a bunch of **** takers, i notice you haven't had PS Lewis post on your thread yet. now that's a real **** taker
