Default Scooby Con !!

Dunno if anyone remembers me on here cause im only a newbie ! But my water pumped failed on my classic and the headgaskets went so needed a new engine so choose to buy a second hand engine as it was the cheapest and fastest option

So scrolled throu ebay after earning enough cash to buy one, and managed to land a deal at 600 quid from someone in Bedford, Well after lots of blood swearing and hours, got the engines switched and changed a few things that needed replacing, got it finished late at night very stressed, checked everythin three times, went to turn the key and nothing

Ive been sold a dead engine !! so if your on here, and your from bedford and you sold me the engine, expect police and court action very soon if you do not reply to emails, or answer your phone

When i go to start it pops out the back, but wont start. I later learnt the car was in a roll and my thoughts are a valve has bent inside, but got someone who works at Subaru coming to have a check, any other ideas before he gets here?

Just a message incase he was on here to say well done, and your be hearing from me very soon.

It was sold as a working engine on ebay, shouldnt have trust, but if i didnt trust anyone id never have a engine

And i spent 3 weeks everyday ringing up the local scrapyard but they only had two scoobies come in and there engines where snatched straight away, they said they come and go within hours! guess i was unlucky not to get one

Any ideas to why it would be doing what its doin and not starting ?

How can you say you were conned when you dont know whats wrong with it?

Have you changed the timing belt? Is it fueling?Do you have spark?(at the correct time.

It may be duff! But it also maybe something youve done during fitting.

I'd be incline to wait and find out whats wrong with it before saying youve been conned on a public forum.

Quite, Soyuld be timing, plug leads in wrong order or such like, have it looked at by a mechanic if you cannot do this yourself.

Check the right harness connections have been made for coil packs and injectors, if they are wrong you will get the symptoms described, if EVERYTHING is corerectly connected and validated as such then you can "have a go" at the seller until then you are a bit out of order, understandable given the circumstances but non the less ott.

cheers
