Default Washing the Seat Covers

Am thinking about doing the above. Anyone done it before? If so did you encounter any problems?

I own a MY00.

They just the standard cloth seats which came with the MY00. Nothing has been spilt on them, but I believe the person who owned the car before me had a dog. Back seats are fine, it just the fronts which look like they could do with a wash.

Just dont wanna put them through the washing machine and wreck them

I'd not put them in the washing machine personally, for no other reason tha I've never done that. Professional valeter will advise you i'm sure...Just don't load them with air freshener!!!!!!!!!!!

AFAIK the seat material is attached to the foam and can't be taken off despite the zip suggesting otherwise
I've cleaned mine whilst they have been in the car

YOu can remove the seat covers.... BUT it completely knackers both the fabric and the foam base...... DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER!!!!!

You'll need to find a really good cleaner... it's best not to get them too wet either... cos they take sodin ages to dry!!!

PS, i have retrimmed my interior... so i do know what i'm talkin about!

Damp cloth should be fine if they're not soiled.

Autoglym interior shampoo is also good. Use sparingly though for reason cited above!

9 days Bet it was worth it with the end result though.

I have been thinking about a retrim for a while, but not in leather. For now though I think I will get the car professionally cleaned.

Thanks for everyones replies

Looking very nice Ron, your efforts were well worth it

I really like the STI seats which are in blue, but I think it would look stupid having seats which say STI on them in a 2000 Turbo

Your 9 days in the Impreza were well worth it. They look so much better than the standard Classic leather. Absolutely superb job
