96 M3 or 96/99 impreza?
Hi all
Would like your pros and cons on buying one of the following as i have a 7k budget and really am stuck as to deciding which to go for. I have got my new car search down to 2, either a 96ish M3 coupe (hopefully an Evo but maybe not for 7k) or something Subaru wrx sti kinda power about 96ish on.
All views would be appreciated as im so stuck, i would especially like any views from people who have been in or owned both. Cheers in advance!

Ive had both cars...I would go for a Non evo m3(No vanos issues).Get a viper 2 remap(£200) and your over 300 BHP.Very reliable, not bad on fuel.Very good all round car.As is the Sti,you can corner faster in a STi due to the 4WD,i think thats the only advantage i can think of.And i think all scoobs are sufferin a little from image probs at the moment.
Long term for me the M3 was easiest and cheapest to live with. And more fun,if tail out action is your thing.Remember its pretty easy to drive a scoob quick,a lot harder with a M3.

Hmmm, i think the best way will be to see which one i can get the best the deal on, so whichever i see at a bargain price with fsh etc i will go for it. Could always sell it and try the other later in the year i suppose! thanks all

for 8k you could prob get ur hands on a nice STI Type R, this is the 2 door model with DCCD (adjustable diff allowing torque to be adjusted from 64%-36 % from rear/front to 50-50), got the best of both worlds there, plenty of sideways action available if thats what u want and handle great too with buckets of power!
