sorry what is a maf?

and i have been told an induction kit kills it? how ? and why?

It's a device to measure the air mass entering the engine.

Induction kits kill it if they use oil to trap particulates ..... plus, pissing about with the trunking and wiring accounts for more failures.

Just leave well alone and you will be fine ...... **** about with what Subaru have given you and expect to be paying for Engine damage!!
