Default JDM v Euro STI

im currently saving up for a subaru, saving not just because i dont want to buy it on finance, but also because insurance will be easier when i get me discount for being over 25, and when my points run out ( 2 years time)

I like the '03 shape Subaru, and want an STI. But i will only ever be able to get a used one

will the import companies source a used JDM STI for you ? or will you have to buy new.

Also, are there any major headaches with regards insurance. i can get reasonable insurance quotes for an STI Type UK, would the a JDM import make these quotes substantially more expensive ?

oh one other thing, what are the differences in the toys, eg HID lights, watercooler spray, DCCD etc.. ?

My JDM STI is insured thru a household name (Norwich Union), most insurance companies should quote you on a Jap STI if youre over 25. Make a few calls.

Off the top of my head other differences on the '03 cars are the twin scroll turbo, equal length headers, different engine internals, rear wash wipe, different suspension set up, most are 13:1 quick rack steering, slightly shorter gearing

Try Litchfields or David Hendry for jap imports.

Hi, another good site is www.japaneseauctions.co.uk, but make sure there is a model report available for the exact model you want imported or you could be stuck with a car you cannot get moted!
