WRX Scooby Rob

I was doing 65-70mph on the m3 going home when i heared a tapping noise comming from the engin.

Iv just had a look around and i cant see anything wrong with it apart from the tapping. It gets worse and tappes faster when you rev the car. It sounds like it is comming from near where my turbo air intake pipe is. There is no loss in performance or anything.

I have a 93 jap spec impreza wrx, i have checked the oil level and it is fine, i just dont want to drive it just incase it is bad.

sounds like the exact same problem i have with my V5 STi, many people have told me its the big end bearings gone, others have said the oil pump valve is stuck etc.

Im hopefully having someone come round and have a look at the weekend, I havent driven the car for approx 2 months due to this noise!!

If you heard it start when you was doing 70mph and it was over the noise of the engine then i would get someone to check it out asap.
