Default Lucky escape in Halifax

Was awoke in the night by some intruders smashing there way from the conservatory into the house with the alarm going off. In a trance I went half way down the stairs not actualy knowing if it was our house they were in, I started shouting and banging with the hope they would scarper (my wife was in hysteria and screaming as well) but no they then started to try and smash the internal door through which was secured with a brass lock, basically to get me and my keys for the scoob!!

I then ran back upstairs and it went quiet, followed by them driving away in a old wrx wagon at speed empty handed. Cops turned up within 5-10 mins but could not really do anything. Anyway we went into the kitchen and the brass lock just fell off, one more kick and it would have given and WHO KNOWS WHAT.

Only just calmed down now after swearing I would cash in the lease on my new scoob for a diesal vectra??? this morning, but **** it they arent winning. My nerves are absolutely shattered though and could not imagine going through that again.

Just in now waiting for a security firm to put in some serious! security and re-barrel 2 new doors. Grills, security lights, additional sensors, THE LOT!

And theres me just thinking this happened to "other" people???.

Cops just rung me back to say they think they have found the car in Bradford and it is linked with 3 attacks on subarus last night?

Total fecking scum bags

Glad you and the missus are ok.

Really is a sad day when owning a car potentially puts your life at risk

How's about buying a dissabled double barrel shot gun, god forbid but if it were to ever happen again poke it through the letter box and see how long they hang around

Glad you and the car are both ok!

I can't help but feel that a big dog is the best deterrent for this kind of scum!!

Just don't forget to feed it though!!! :-) Easy mistake to make if you're usedd to much lower maintenence alarms....

Although the RSPCA won't accept this excuse! ;-)

A dog would be a good deterant, but would be cruel as we work all day and would afford it very little time.

How about scrapping 100 bast@ard hours community service for a 3 year stretch, that would make the ****** bags think twice!

Another sad fact is that scum bags often hang around on forum's like this
So what ever you do, don't post too many details about you're new security be it alarm "X" or lock "Y" or at night time the keys to the scoob are now attached to the collar of a slabbering partially starved pitbull

I would say that too, but I think it'd be a fair, if rather unflattering description of the girlfriend!!! :-)

Exactly the same happend to me (also in west yorkshire) only 2 weeks ago! lying in bed and heard one of the internal doors go! they broke in through our patio doors, didnt take anything they were just looking for my keys!! Luckly same as you they scarped before i got down stairs! and like you I have spent a small fortune on extra security since!!!!

Wouldnt be suprised if it aint the same set of low lifes!!!

Do not give in to these theiving scum b*stards! Why should we have to sell the cars we work hard to pay for! just because there are arseh*les like these about!

Glad you and your missus are ok and i now what you are going through m8 but chin up and dont let them get to you! they are not worth it!!!!.
